Tiffany has always welcomed a good debate. She considered intelligent commentary to be a true art form if composed correctly. Perhaps that is why she set her sights on law school. Then again, the need for overachievement in any academic challenge and society’s characterization of lawyers as smart people might be to blame for her decision. For whatever reason, Tiffany decided as a teenager that she was going to attend a top law school and get a high profile job as an attorney in a large law firm in a big city. There was no adjective too big for her plans. Everything was going to be “top,” “big” or “the best.” She succeeded in her plans, but there’s a reason that teenagers aren’t allowed to make many life changing decisions. They can’t see life’s big picture until they’ve lived it for a while.

After graduating from the University of Iowa in 1996 with study majors in Journalism and Russian, Tiffany studied in St. Petersburg, Russia before earning a Juris Doctorate from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1999. Although she continues to work as an attorney to pay the bills, she considers her role as mom and writer to be her true calling and, to resort to cliché, her “dream job.” When not chasing her kids or washing fingerprint smudges off the walls in her house, Tiffany is a freelance writer and is always thinking about the next chapter of her latest novel. Her articles about film directors, celebrity bodyguards, artists, and national musical performers have been featured in lifestyle magazines, as well as her work focusing on community programs and area entrepreneurs.

As a selected contributor to a popular Kansas City blog, Tiffany has regularly appeared on morning talk shows to discuss a variety of parenting topics and has made several personal appearances to promote her first novel, Six Weeks in Petrograd, which was published in 2013. She has been a featured author in area publications, and enjoys spending time with book clubs to discuss her debut novel and meeting new fans at author signings. Tiffany lives in Kansas City with her husband and two young sons.
